About Silky Ears Spaniels 

Silky Ears Spaniels is a small, dedicated breeding program based in Cockatoo, in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria. The welfare, happiness and healthy development of our dogs and puppies is always our highest priority.

My name is Amba and I work professionally in animal reproduction, specialising in IVF, embryo and sperm cryopreservation and reproductive surgery in rodents, alongside their daily care and welfare management.

This work has given me an extensive understanding of reproductive biology, genetics, animal welfare and developmental care, all of which directly inform my breeding practices and puppy raising philosophy.

Having worked in the animal industry since 2018, I bring a level of scientific knowledge, attention to detail and hands on experience not commonly found in small scale breeding programs. I combine this professional background with a deeply personal and ethical approach to raising every puppy.

The focus is on producing healthy, stable and well bred English Cocker Spaniels with excellent temperaments and true to type characteristics. Every litter is planned with careful consideration for health, temperament, structure and long term breed preservation.

Our puppies are raised inside our home and receive consistent interaction, enrichment and individual attention throughout their early development. We place a strong emphasis on early socialisation and positive experiences to help shape confident, resilient and adaptable companions.

As part of our puppy raising program, we implement Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI). These early development techniques are designed to support neurological development, resilience, confidence and adaptability from a young age.

We understand how important the transition into a new home is, which is why we take the time to carefully match each puppy to the right family based on temperament, lifestyle and suitability. Ongoing support and guidance is always available to our puppy families throughout the life of their dog.

Transparency is incredibly important to us. We openly share our dogs, breeding practices and puppy raising journey through our social media platforms so families can see exactly how our dogs are raised and cared for.
