Our Guardian Home Programme

Our dogs are first and foremost our family pets. We believe every dog deserves a life filled with companionship, individual attention and a loving home.

Our Guardian Home Program allows us to maintain a small, carefully managed breeding program while ensuring our dogs enjoy the experience of growing up and living as family pets.

Through this program, selected dogs are placed with carefully chosen families, where they live full time as loved pets while remaining part of our breeding program for a limited period.

Once their breeding career is complete, they are desexed at our expense and full ownership is permanently transferred to their family.

What is a guardian home?

A guardian home is a partnership between us and a carefully selected family.

Guardian families provide a permanent home for one of our breeding dogs, raising them as their own family pet. We retain breeding rights and responsibility for all breeding related decisions and expenses throughout the dog's breeding career.

In return, families receive a beautifully bred English Cocker Spaniel at a significantly reduced upfront cost, with agreed compensation throughout the dog's breeding career.

Most importantly, the dog enjoys a normal family life, with a dedicated home and people to call their own.

How it Works

  • Joining Your Family

Your puppy joins your household and grows up as a much loved family companion.

  • Growing Up

As your dog matures, we arrange health testing and assess their suitability for our breeding program.

  • Breeding Career

When required, your dog temporarily returns to us for breeding and for whelping and raising pups.

  • Retirement

Once they retire we arrange desexing and transfer full ownership. They remain with you for life.

What to Expect

Our guardian dogs live with their families full-time and participate in everyday family life just like any other pet.

We remain responsible for:

  • Breeding decisions and arrangements.

  • Health testing and breeding related veterinary expenses.

  • Pregnancy, whelping and puppy rearing.

  • All litter related expenses.

  • Desexing when the dog retires.

  • Ongoing support and agreed litter compensation.

Guardian families are responsible for their dog's everyday care, including:

  • Feeding, exercise and enrichment.

  • Grooming and routine veterinary care.

  • Training and socialisation.

  • Providing a safe, secure and loving home.

  • Communicating with us throughout the program.

All arrangements and responsibilities are clearly outlined in our Guardian Home Agreement.

Is a Guardian Home Right for You?

We are looking for families who genuinely want to welcome an English Cocker Spaniel into their lives and are comfortable with the arrangements involved in a guardian partnership.

Our ideal guardian homes:

  • Are located within Victoria.

  • Have a securely fenced yard.

  • Can offer a primarily indoor family lifestyle.

  • Have the time and commitment to raise and care for a dog.

  • Are comfortable owning an entire (non-desexed) dog.

  • Understand that females will temporarily return to us for breeding, pregnancy and puppy rearing.

  • Are reliable, flexible and happy to maintain an ongoing relationship with us.

Guardian homes are a commitment and we take great care when selecting families. Our priority is finding the right home for each individual dog.
